What a pleasure Anwar Al-Eniziand her mother Haifa Al-Kazemywere! I am just so proud that out of all the places in the world they chose to come to us.Theycame bearing gifts galore, so not only did I get to share with them my knowledge, but theyshared so muchwith me about their culture. Mmmm, you should try real Arabian spices and drinks! They made some new treats for us that we have never had before. What an absolute joy this whole class has been. I hope to keep in touch with everyone to see how well they are all doing!TFL

We are excited to have 2 visitors coming to our cake classes from Kuwait. I’m tickled that they chose to come here, when they could have gone any where in the world. It will be so interesting to learn a little about their culture, differences and similarities we have in cake design styles etc.. I can’t wait to meet them. I will be picking them up from the airport tonight at !0:00. We’ll post some pictures of our projects in the next few days. Until next time! Carrie

The ICES (International Cakes Exploration Society) Days of Sharing will be held in Tooele, Utah this year. We are soooo excited to be seeing everyone! The Days of Sharing will be held Oct. 14th & 15th from 10:00am to 4:00pm. One thing that I am the most excited for is that it will be totally “HANDS ON” with Food Network Stars and ChampionsNorm Davis and Zane Beg. Plan on learning in STYLE! For lunch we will be having a”Pot Luck” so bring something Yummy to share.

We also want everyone to bring as many displays as possible. For every display you bring, you will be entered into a drawing for GREAT PRIZES!Please be prepared to share how you made the display (new techniques etc.)during lunch…(Displaysmay be cake dummies,old or new, cakes, cookies or any type of sugar art.)

ICES Members -$60.00 per dayor $100.00 forboth days.

New members can join when registering if you’d like. Annual Dues are $60 per year to receive monthly ICES newsletters to keep you informed about cake shows, classes, ICES events, and cake decorating ideas. Associate memberships are $25 per year.(An associate member must reside with or work for a charter or regular member and use the regular member’s address. Associate members have all the rights and priviledges of regular member, but do not receive the newsletter.)

Non ICES Members -$75.00 per day or $125.00 for bothdays.

Registration at the door will be an additional $10.00per person.

If you only want to join for one day you will need to pick whether you would like Norm Davis’s Class or Zane Beg’s Class. More details to come.

Rooms can be rented at the Holiday Inn Express for those who wish to stay on site for $79 night with a maximum occupancy of 4 per room, so bring a friend or two, and have a great time! When reserving your room, please mention ICES for the room rate quotedand then our cost for themeeting rooms will be discounted also.
