This bride was Porscha, she came to us and wanted a center piece cake for every table. It turned out absolutely WONDERFULL.

Each cake was made with white fondant but they each had a different pattern on them. And a super delicious flavor!  BUT to top them off she adorned the top of the cake with symbols for different words like Love, Cherish and Joy. And then each person knew which table to sit at based on the symbol… VERY cute idea.

Notice that everything in the room is white except the flowers! That really makes the BEAUTIFUL flowers stand out so much! Every Blooming Thing did a great job at making the bouquets and floral displays POP! 

To some brides/grooms that’s not a good thing, they want their cake to be original and made just for them, I completely get that.

However A LOT of our brides want something fun and trendy, that’s where this one steps in. We named it our Ryanne Cake. It is a 3 tier square X-deep white fondant and Chocolate swirls. The best part is the Chocolate Calla Lilies. Pretty and delicious! LOL….. OH but you can’t forget the extra sides cakes. So for an idea of a popular cake this is definitely a GOOD one. Change the colors around to fit your wedding and you set to go!

The flowers were beautiful and location was beautiful the linens and decor were done PERFECT!

The bride used Christine Miller from LiBella Events to help her plan this incredible and stunning wedding. The reception was at The McCune Mansion, a grand statuesque building in the heart of Salt Lake’s City Center. It’s incredible marble interior and warm atmosphere make ANY wedding beautiful.

Shawn from Sax Romney did all of the floral centerpieces and bouquets. Shawn is a WONDERFUL and sweet guy who’s talent with floral design really shines in these photos! I was baffled when I delivered the cake and saw the amazing designs that he was making! Simply amazing!

This four tier round wedding cake draped in a rich chocolate fudge looks absolutely decadent, doesn’t it!?!  Pepper Nix caught the beautiful lighting created here and the excellent contrast between the red rose petals and the chocolate, honestly I could eat the photo! LOL just kidding, but it is definitely one of my favorite cakes!

The reason I say all of this is because of the cake photo below. It just really appeals to me, I am a BIG gardener! Flowers are some of my most favorite things in the ENTIRE world.  When I saw the photo of the weaved baskets full of different types of flowers I just thought THAT’S IT! That is my favorite cake! Aparently the bride, Leslie and I have a lot in common.

Carrie made this look with three separate cakes and did a basket-weave look on the side, these baskets look just like you would see in a french country side garden! And then we filled each round cake with the same style of flowers that the bride was using in her bouquet (made by Every Blooming Thing) … And to finish the look of the “basket” we made handles out of gumpaste and attached them…  CLASSY! This was another wedding we did at LaCaille so we added the grapes, LaCaille has the best french food and wine in town!

This is a fun way to show that you can use any color on the cake. A lot of the time our brides are a little hesitant to put their colors on their cake, but when done right and in the appropriate amounts it can be very classic. Sage is also pretty, subtle color, and easier to work with. Some of the brighter colors just need to be used a little here and there and they look beautiful too! This is our Holly Cake, done in a three tier square with the pretty, soft white fondant, but we have done it in various shapes and sizes. Always to fit the brides needs… SO, I don’t know if anyone has caught on when looking through our website but each cake has a name. (I doubt you’ve missed that) When Carrie first started making cakes for her friends and their daughters she would call the cake by the brides name as an easy way of remembering the design. So the tradition stuck and now if it is at all possible when we have a new design we LOVE to give credit to the bride and name it after them… I laugh because some names are just too popular, we should technically have about 30 Ashley cakes and just as many Chelsea’s so what we do when we have a cake with that name is either use the brides middle name or we ask her to name it. I think it is really sweet to name the cake after the mother of the bride. (BIG) Aweeee!

LaCaille has the most unbelievable colors and background for an astonishing WEDDING! This photo below perfectly captures the use of color in this particular wedding! Magnifique Photography sent us these photos, HUGE thanks to Terra Cooper! What a fantastic job.

This cake is a prefect example of how you can change a cake to suit your needs. The original photo is the same design but in a soft pink and green with matching ribbon, so we did some switching around and made it perfect JUST for the bride! Three tiers with white fondant and white swirl design keeps the bride in a “safe zone” from having too much color on the cake. And then just a simple ribbon for the orange and pink really “POPPED” the separate tiers.

Notice the bottom tier… This quilting effect is HUGE right now. So many of our cakes have this technique used on it. It is subtle and can add just enough texture to the cake. And the quilting can be used with so many other designs it really is a great choice if you don’t want a “busy” cake or a simple cake, it’s totally middle of the road!

It is fabulous, the wedding (obviously) had a grape, wine, Italian theme so we made this cake a four tier square, ivory confection. The best part about this wonderful wedding cake is that it was exquisitely hand-painted. The beautiful painting finishes off the grapevine feel and then we covered grape bunches in sugar and laid them on opposing corners.

The inside of this cake is our enticing Italian Cream! What better flavor than a soft white cake with pecans, nutmeg and a hint of coconut. mmmmmm….

This cake is 3 tier round wedding cake covered with meaningful sayings and words between the bride and groom. And then to top it off they put edible photos of themselves on the cake too. This is a fun way to get more of your personality “ON” the cake.

Back in October Linda came out to Utah to teach Carrie how to use the Cricut on our wedding cakes. This is the newest and MOST fun way to create wedding cakes. It has a completely different look to it! Carrie and I have talked a TON about these cakes and she is really excited to start implementing it on the wedding cakes for this Upcoming Wedding Season.

We had a few bridal shows that we attended back in January and we needed some new display cakes to show our brides the photos below are what Carrie and here crew came up with. Aren’t they exquisite!

The first cake is on our website, we simply called it “Shilouette.” It is a 5 [five] tier stacked wedding cake with all the detailing in black gum-paste. The Cricut really has so many different designs that we could have gone CRAZY trying to pick designs! Don’t forget though if you do not need a cake to serve this many people  is available in different sizes and colors.

We also wanted a cake that would really “hit home” with the brides that don’t want the traditional wedding cake. Carrie wanted to make something that was really different! So we took a spin off of one of our other popular cake the “Lindsey“,  it  has beautiful chocolate inlay swirls, and to change it we pleated the fondant to give a funky texture. I love this one and when we showed it at the bridal shows it really was a hit. The crowd loved it. If you want to order this cake it is also on our website it is called the “Shelby.” Named after one of Carrie’s assistants that helped make the cake!  

With this 3 tier square, extra deep, green goody,we wanted a cake that would show off the tiny delicate, lacy patterns that the Cricut could do. Once again mission accomplished! It was a huge hit at the shows also, the girls really liked that they could pick a lacy pattern similar to their lace on their wedding dress  and have it put all over the cakes. This cake is on our website, if you would like to order it we named it the “Josette.”

And last is the best of all! Well in my opinion, I LOVE the princess style cakes! This is a very classy, pale yellow cake. Carrie carves out some of the tiers to have that beautiful scalloped look. Then one of Carrie’s other assistant Rita (another daughter in law), embellished the whole cake with different piped patterns and put on a few small groupings of rolled ribbon roses made out of fondant. It is a rather large eye catcher, it’s 6 tiers! A cake this size would serve somewhere around 375 of you guest a reception size slice. THAT’S  lot of cake!

Out of all of the Show cakes we made this year this one is by far my favorite! Again it is available in different colors and sizes. If you want to order this cake from our website it is called the “Claire.”

Kailee, came to us and wanted a really fun a cake with different designs on each tier. Almost as if each tier is made out of a different wrapping paper and stacked on top of each other. What a fun way to display a wedding cake, PRESENTS! And her colors complimented each other really well. The baby blue looks bright and pretty against the Chocolate Brown and soft white fondant.

Sometimes if you don’t want to put any fresh flowers on your wedding cake you can do what we have done here and add several fondant bows, and sugar flowers instead of fresh flowers. Some of our clients want every thing one the wedding cake to be edible. What a fun way to get the fully SUGAR look.

AND… Having side cakes is a great way to achieve more servings without having a GIGANTIC cake.
