Many of you have seen Carrie’s HSN debut withthe Cricut Cake. First I would like to say even though it was stressful preparing for such a BIG event it (AND lets not forget MANY MANY MAN HOURS!) was a VERY NEW experience and Carrie enjoyed seeing “how it all goes down.”

There has been some controversy about the Cricut and the rules and regulations surrounding it, I personally am not prepared to go into all of that, (Carrie will be able to address that) however I would love to show off the beautiful cakes that have been created using the Cricut Cake.  All of these cakes were made specifically for the HSN project by Carrie’s Cakes and our AWESOME employees :0)

Honestly HOW CUTE are these little cupcakes!?! I love how adorable they turned out, and how cute they looked along with the Valentine Cake (see below)…

And it was obvious what was on the mind of this cakes creator! SPRING! The Cricut Cake made it easy to create a bright and whimsical cake for the Easter Season. (see below)

This cake makes me soooo jealous for you ladies n gents that have little girls! Having 3 little boys means NO sweet princess cakes for me. (see below)

Monogram cupcakes have been big this year so it was fantastic to get to make this monogram cupcake. It can be made in any color or font… HOW FUN!

Once again I’M JEALOUS! I need a little girl, this little “shower cake” is so sweet it makes you wanna diaper it! OK J/K nothing can make me WANT to do that! HA!

Ahhhhhh here we go more of what I am used to BOYS BOYS BOYS… I love the way they chose to make this out of bright colors instead of just blue and white and what a CUTE ELEPHANT! (see below)

We are having an Open House just for brides, with lots of cakes and samples and goodies!  Also attending are about a dozen of my favorite people in the wedding industry, so while planning your wedding and checking out our cakes and tasting different flavors, you can also chat with florists and caterers and see amazing couture bridal gowns, get your makeup done, eat some amazing food, get ideas for your wedding and have fun!  Here’s the details:

Hello Sugar Sweet Readers…! My name is Brooke, I am Carrie’s assistant. I have been the one doing most of the posts, and it occurred to me that you might have NO IDEA who it is that’s telling you about the weddings or latest events.

The truth is it will most likely be me, Carrie is busy being creative down in the bakery most of the time! I thought since it’s me you will be reading you might like to know a little bit about me. My name is Brooke Biggers and not only am I Carrie assistant but I am her daughter-in-law, (yep she’s stuck with me) Just kidding!

I married Carrie’s second son Brandon 12 years ago we have three PERFECT little boys and one more baby on the way, due in August. My boys love to come over to Grandma Carrie’s and make cakes with her, in fact every year Carrie has my kiddos over to make Gingerbread houses it’s one of our favorite things to do! … hmmm maybe I’ll post some of those pics for you to see too?  Here’s a little bit about me…

My favorite food, well lately it has been Dill Pickles (but we’ll blame that on pregnancy craving) usually I LOVE Chinese food!

My favorite color is pink, I’m a girly girl!

My favorite thing to do. BLOG! I love doing Carries and I have a personal blog too. LOVE IT!

I grew up in Sandy, UT  just a couple of blocks away from Carrie’s cakes.

I now do all of the paper work i.e…( invoicing, billing blah blah blah… ) and most of the Bridal Consultations (that’s the fun part!), I would love to say that I make the cakes but ALAS I have absolutely NO culinary skill what so ever…. If you catch me in Carrie’s bakery it’s only to help with the REALLY simple tasks.

Before Carrie’s Cakes… well honestly it doesn’t seem like there is a BEFORE… I have know Carrie practically my WHOLE life (I met my husband when I was about 13 years old) Carrie’s Cakes has always been there for me, I have helped on and off over the years. But before I was brought on full-time, I worked my fair share of retail jobs. This is NOT as bad as it sounds. I love working with customers. But here at Carrie’s, I LOVE being able to be a part of the “special” day. I get a total kick out of when the bride starts talking about the wedding day and the get all excited! YAY enthusiasm!

Well enough about me, from now on when you see a BLOG post from Brooke you’ll atleast have some idea of who the heck that is! LOL Read and enjoy!

I have never in my life known a more humble person than Carrie! I on the other hand am NOT so humble. I WISH she WON, I think Carrie and her team did a fantastic job. I was so proud of her and the EXTREME talent that they all put forth. If you could have seen the brainstorming that went on, it was awesome to see them craming to come up with the coolest cake ideas possible. AND what a fun theme they got too, “Patriotic“ who isn’t a patriotic person?!?

WOW we just ran with it. When coming up with the idea for the design of the cake Carrie decided to put all of the most important Patriotic elements together that she could think of. From Flags, Eagles and The Constitution to Popcorn and Hotdogs!

I thought I’d share a couple of the photos that show how much stuff we had to pack to take with, it was CRAZY! BUT… For some reason I can’t load any photos right now…SO you have to WAIT! HA HA… Pictures of Carrie’s trip will be up as soon as I can get them.
