In this fondant class you will learn how to make Carrie’s “Fabulous Fondant” and perfect your cake covering skills. Whether you’re new to the cake decorating world or just wanted to brush up fondant 101 this class is of great benefit to every skill level. All supplies and lunch provided each day. Chocolate Inlay and Envelope Box with Carrie Biggers of Carrie’s Cakes Utah Monday, March 8th and Tuesday, March 9th, 2010 $425.00 9:30am – 4:30pm You’ve seen her on TLC’s Ultimate Cake Off now meet and learn from her in person! Take your cake decorating skills to the next level with these exciting new techniques. First learn how to make chocolate modeling clay. Then use your clay to cover a cake using this beautiful inlay technique. (Shown on her “Lyndsey” cake) From there play with the chocolate to make striped flowers, rolled ribbon roses, plaids and checkered gingham. As well as chocolate and gumpaste dogwoods. Spend your second day with Carrie making a white chocolate envelope box cake. (Shown on our guest teacher “classes” page) Learn techniques to smooth, texture and stencil. Students will complete an 8″ square cake using this technique and then fill it with chocolate dipped strawberries, sugared strawberries or grapes, or edible rose petals.
