Topsy Turvey Class March 2009
March 21st, 2009

What a treat it was to have our former students come back for a new class! It was so great to get to see some of them and hear how well they are doing since the Fondant Made Easy Classes that they took. And even better we had several new students join us and we had a BLAST getting to know them! We had so much fun getting to know everyone and hear their stories about their “DISASTER CAKES” or their “BEST CAKE EVER” stories… Not only are the classes that I do informative but I like to keep them light hearted so we can get to know each other and become GREAT friends!I can honestly say though, these girls have great talent and I foresee them going very far… Congrats girls it was great having you join us..!

Lyndsey MelansonLindsay Melanson ofBountiful, Utah In my Topsey Turvey courses I like to have the girls find a photo of a cake that they would like to turn into a Topsey Turvey cake, Lindsay chose our Cinderella. Challenge!

Kim FluhrerKim Fluhrer of Woods Cross, Utah. Kim chose a sweet little cake to gain her creativity from! Cutest little cake ever… Good job Kim, we heard you have had some luck already!

Julie TurnerJulie Turner of Spanish Fork, Utah. Julie joined us at the last minute and we were so glad! She came with some fantastic questions and blew us away with how cute her cake turned out.

Kariann RuggKariann Rugg of West Valley City, Utah. Kariann chose to do a marbling technique on her cake and it turned out spectacular. The choc and pink really complimented each other!

Schanelle WardSchanelle Ward of Payson, Utah. Schanelle is another of our students that came to our Fondant Made Easy class earlier in the year. She has a wonderful talent and we can see her becoming a great cake designer!

Betty Jo PrivettBetty Jo Privett of Boise, Idaho. Betty Jo decided to do a bright and colorful cake that turned out so fun It was GREAT to see her creativity at work. Good job Betty Jo.

Shirley NaultShirley Nault of Draper, Utah. Shirley is a new student for us and it was fantastic to see her motivated to create such fun cakes! Good job Shirley!

Nope, It’s not true…
February 3rd, 2009

Unfortunately there has been a misprint in a magazine that stated that Carrie has passed away. I am here to tell you Carrie is alive and well! We aregiggling at the situation, and trying to be light hearted about it.

Tolet you know what happened, the message was put in the magazine wrong it was supposed to say that they were sorry for Carrie’s husbands passing, yes he did pass away in Nov. (a post will be coming abouthim)and they printed it as Carrie’s passing…

If there are fans out there that have heard this news just know that it is not true and just a misprint. Thank you to all of you whohave been sending cards and calling with words of love! Carrie truly knows how much she is loved! We have the best fans and friends!

Check it out…

One Happy Bride!

I love to get emails telling me how much our customers loved working with Carrie’s Cakes.

So, about a year ago we joined up with a web-site called www.weddingwire.com this is where a bride can go on and put all of the vendors that she hadused and rate them on a scale of 1 to 5. We have had quite a few brides rate us on there and the consensus is always great rating… I LOVE IT. Feed back from our clients is great, if there is something you loved let us know, if there is something you didn’t love LET US KNOW so we can work on it!

Well anyway because of our high ratings from our valued brides we won an award from wedding wire!Sweet! Thanks girls!

Angie Hall Wedding cake

It is so excitingwhen we are aproached by magazines and asked if they can use our cake photos. Well alright it’s more thanexciting it’s an EGO BOOST! We absolutely love it when we are contacted and asked permission to use our cakes! Here’s how it all came about- we had an absolutely adorable bride named Angie Hall that brought us several, just as adorable cake design ideas. We put our heads together and came up with some of our new and favorite designs.

Andso WE were thrilled with the out come but apparently so was Southern Weddings Magazine! A very excited, Angie sent us an email that Southern Weddings has decided to feature her wedding… It was a very bright and cheerfull if not uplifting summer time wedding all done in the most unique of colors, Tiffany Blue and Bright Cherry Red! We want to say thanks to Angie and to her AWESOME photographer (Jonathan Canlas) for the beautifullpictures of the wedding cake!
