One of my favorite cakes is the Elizabeth. Each tier is lavishly frosted with our extra rich butter-cream icing, then covered in hundreds of hand rolled and shaped chocolate curls. It takes hours to make the curls, and each is unique, making this creation different every time. As you can see, by changing the type of flowers, adding fruit or other types of flora, or combining curl tiers with plain tiers, the Elizabeth can be personalized for each bride. This cake is versatile, classy and fun at the same time, plus, the curls are delicious.

Every once in a while we get to make a cake that is a bit different than our normal wedding cakes. This Anniversary Cake is one of those happy examples. Made for good friends Nancy & Steve and Chris & Mark, both, respectively, celebrating their anniversaries, this cake is the epitome of married life. Figures were added that represent the unique characteristics of each: pets: cats and dogs, sports equipment and toss pillows, along with a “silly verse” a-la Freud-”One is very crazy when in love” -and the couples’ names whimsically piped on the slatted wood floor personalize this cake for the two happy couples. We had fun creating this scene.
Congratulations to Nancy & Steve and Chris & Mark.
