We Might Not have Won BUT…
December 31st, 2009

She had a BLAST. Carrie was very, very excited to get the opportunity to go to California and be on TLC and be a part of their Ultimate Cake off  Show.

I have never in my life known a more humble person than Carrie! I on the other hand am NOT so humble. I WISH she WON, I think Carrie and her team did a fantastic job.  I was so proud of her and the EXTREEM talent that they all put forth. If you could have seen the brainstorming that went on, it was awesome to see them craming to come up with the coolest cake ideas possible.AND what a fun theme they got too, “Patriotic who isn’t a patriotic person?!?

WOW we just ran with it. When coming up with the idea for the design of the cake Carrie decided to put all of the most important Patriotic elements together that she could think of. From Flags, Eagles and The Constitution to Popcorn and Hotdogs!

I thought I’d share a couple of the photos that show how much stuff we had to pack to take with, it was CRAZY! BUT… For some reason I can’t load any photos right now…SO you have to WAIT! HA HA… Pictures of Carrie’s trip will be up as soon as I can get them.

Watch for us on TLC this fall!
July 25th, 2009

There has been a lot of CRAZINESS and CHAOS going on around Carrie’s Cakes the past couple of month. We have been completely slammed with cakes from Mini cakes to  MASSIVE 6 tier cakes… cupcakes and Wimsey cakes! I think we have CAKE coming out of our ears!

Our phones have been ringing off the hook and sometimes we just have to sit back take a deep breath and start all over again. This year seems like it has been just insane… OH WAIT!!! That’s because it has been! Here’s why… not only does everybody out there know that CARRIE’S CAKES ROCKS…. But now the Discovery/TLC People have heard about Carrie’s Cakes and invited Carrie herself to participate in -

a Prime-Time Food Fight on tlc’s “ULTIMATE CAKE OFF”

Carrie will appear on the new TLC competition series ULTIMATE CAKE OFF in an episode airing September, 28th, 2009 at 10 PM ET/PT.

In the episode, Carrie will face off against two other contestants in a challenge to create an edible masterpiece in hopes of winning $10,000 and to have their cakes featured at a marquee event. With only nine hours, the competitors must make cakes that are at least five feet tall and are creative enough to win the taste of the client and the ultimate prize. In this episode, the cake is in competition to be featured at Reagan Library and Museum.

There were days of prepping and brain-storming and nights of absolutely NOsleep but we’re still here.  Thank you, thank you to our friends Susan Fox, Shalena Fox and Julie Andrus  the DREAM TEAM that helped Carrie through this CRAZY and EXCITING time…  a team of friends that are now like our family.

We are soooo excited, you absolutely have to watch the show it will be airing Mondays.  With a sneak peak on August 3rd. See you then!

Topsy Turvey Class March 2009
March 21st, 2009

What a treat it was to have our former students come back for a new class! It was so great to get to see some of them and hear how well they are doing since the Fondant Made Easy Classes that they took. And even better we had several new students join us and we had a BLAST getting to know them! We had so much fun getting to know everyone and hear their stories about their “DISASTER CAKES” or their “BEST CAKE EVER” stories… Not only are the classes that I do informative but I like to keep them light hearted so we can get to know each other and become GREAT friends!I can honestly say though, these girls have great talent and I foresee them going very far… Congrats girls it was great having you join us..!

Nope, It’s not true…
February 3rd, 2009

Unfortunately there has been a misprint in a magazine that stated that Carrie has passed away. I am here to tell you Carrie is alive and well! We aregiggling at the situation, and trying to be light hearted about it.

Tolet you know what happened, the message was put in the magazine wrong it was supposed to say that they were sorry for Carrie’s husbands passing, yes he did pass away in Nov. (a post will be coming abouthim)and they printed it as Carrie’s passing…

If there are fans out there that have heard this news just know that it is not true and just a misprint. Thank you to all of you whohave been sending cards and calling with words of love! Carrie truly knows how much she is loved! We have the best fans and friends!

Check it out…

One Happy Bride!

I love to get emails telling me how much our customers loved working with Carrie’s Cakes.

So, about a year ago we joined up with a web-site called www.weddingwire.com this is where a bride can go on and put all of the vendors that she hadused and rate them on a scale of 1 to 5. We have had quite a few brides rate us on there and the consensus is always great rating… I LOVE IT. Feed back from our clients is great, if there is something you loved let us know, if there is something you didn’t love LET US KNOW so we can work on it!

Well anyway because of our high ratings from our valued brides we won an award from wedding wire!Sweet! Thanks girls!
